Rev. Rusti Moore is an energetic and creative person who thinks outside the box and finds solutions when none seem possible. She follows the prompting of the Holy Spirit to lead congregations in life-changing faith steps.

"I believe all churches must be moved into works of compassion and social justice where the outpouring of God’s love leads. I will work hand-in-hand with the church in their vision for the Church of Jesus Christ. I will serve to show others the Love of Jesus Christ as I have known Jesus as the North Star of my life."

She began her journey in the Southern Baptist denomination with a Masters of Divinity from the Southwestern Theological Seminary. She left the Baptist denomination and worked for a time with a child and family therapist. After a time she served at West University UMC in Houston creating a youth program which grew from six youth and growing the program to 90 youth after four years. Through Perkins School of Theology she became a Full Elder in the Church. She has served in Shepherd UMC and Strawbridge UMC in the Houston area. In 2000, Rev. Moore became the first woman in the Texas Conference to be a founding pastor of a church. Wildwood UMC was chartered in 2001. In 2014 she retired from active ministry to spend time with her family and help with the needs of her 4 year old granddaughter.

She later returned to active ministry through the Conference's interim ministry, serving congregations with transitional needs.

Rusti and her husband Alan, live part-time in Jacksonville and Houston area.
